I had the most respect for Andy as a family man, a great and loving husband, and father of four children. I just had to get this larger-than-life figure on video, so people could appreciate Andy the most. He was a great guy, like a little kid in a man’s body that made everyone laugh. We did a video entitled, “A Day in the Life of IFBB Pro Andy Haman.” Andy was one of a kind! A “real-life cartoon character” with superhero muscle and looks. In 2008 I sent an MD videographer, Butch Peterson, to Andy’s home in Colorado. In 2007, Andy won the super heavyweight class at the NPC Masters bodybuilding championships, earning his pro card. I went to Indiana State University on a wrestling scholarship and Andy went to the University of Iowa and became a championship wrestler. We had one thing in common, we both wrestled in college. Haman was most proud of being a father, and his children have followed in his strength sport footsteps. In 2017, he played the role of Duque in the film “The Jurassic Dead.” He also was known for his arm development as well as his strength, including a bench press of over 600 pounds. Haman and his family would occasionally appear as “The Incredibles” at these events and on social media. He may be best known for his ads and appearances on behalf of his sponsors at expos and trade shows. His last appearance onstage came at the 2010 Phoenix Pro, where he finished tied for 16th. His highest placing as an Open competitor came at the 2009 Orlando Pro where he placed 13th. He would earn IFBB Professional League status the following year thanks to his super-heavyweight and overall victories at the 2007 NPC Masters Nationals contest. Haman first made headlines in the bodybuilding scene in 2006 when he won the super-heavyweight class of the Colorado State Championships.
